Documents you may need upon departure

Leaving the country is a moment when we have many tasks on our to-do list because any relocation is a complex process. The focus is naturally on preparing for the new environment. However, experience shows that at this moment it is practical to consider the question - What documentation from Serbia might I need in the future?

Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia states that the documents that are most often requested from foreign citizens who leave Serbia are as follows:

  • Certificate that the foreign citizen lived at a certain address;
  • Certificate regarding the period during which the foreign citizen had an approved residence in the Republic of Serbia;
  • Certificate of no criminal conviction.

The first two certificates are in some cases requested by the tax authorities of the country of which the foreign national is a citizen. A certificate of no criminal conviction can be requested by a future employer, a foreign embassy, or a university upon enrolment. We advise you to check whether you may need any of the above documents, or any other documents that you can obtain while you are still in Serbia. Take advantage of the opportunity to easily and efficiently obtain all the necessary documents while you are still in the country.

If you have already left Serbia, and you need one of the above-mentioned documents, do not worry because these certificates can be obtained on your behalf by a lawyer with a power of attorney.
